The Fund for Mitchell County – The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina In spring 2015, The Fund for Mitchell County made four grants for food assistance for people in need in Mitchell County.

The Fund for Mitchell County serves donors and nonprofits. This endowment fund was established in 1999 by caring individuals who recognized the importance of a permanent charitable capital resource to support the ever-changing needs and opportunities in Mitchell County.

Contributions made to the Fund for Mitchell County are pooled and invested by The Community Foundation. Proceeds from the investments are used to make grants while the original gifts remain intact, continuing to grow for the benefit of future generations.

The Fund for Mitchell County supports nonprofit organizations and public institutions primarily through partnering with CFWNC's People in Need grant program. Review the People in Need guidelines and application information for details.

You can make a difference in Mitchell County by making a tax-deductible gift of cash, securities, life insurance or real estate. By pooling your gift with those of your neighbors, you can provide significant support for local needs.
